About Our Rehoboth Church Pastor in Baltimore, MD
1988 – Present; “Endeavoring to Keep the Unity of the Spirit in the Bond of Peace” - Ephesians 4:3
Rehoboth Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic is a fruitful bough by reason of God’s strength (Genesis 49:22). “Which were born not of blood [human], nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (St. John 1:13)
Tirelessly working on building churches and the people of the Kingdom of God on the west coast was Overseer Keith G. Allen, the International Evangelist for the Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic. Overseer Allen had been called of God to go to Maryland in the early part of 1987, to help Bishop Barnes, Sr. in the work of the Lord during his sickness. After Bishop Barnes, Sr. passed, Rehoboth Church was without a pastor for about a year. Not long afterward, finding faithfulness to the church, Overseer Allen was installed as the new Pastor of Rehoboth Church, and has provided and instructed many to the revelatory Word of God.
Overseer Allen faithfully, along with his early wife Evangelist Gloria Allen, worked with Bishop Carr in the late 1960s in California as Bishop Carr’s assistant Pastor. Overseer Allen had been called of God to go to Maryland in the early part of 1987, from his home at that time in Aurora, Colorado, to help Bishop Barnes, Sr. in the work of the Lord during his sickness. Bishop Allen stayed in Baltimore for a few months to evangelize and teach the Word of the Lord while his family stayed in Colorado and cared for the church there.
Shortly after, Bishop Barnes, Sr. passed. Rehoboth Church was without a pastor for about a year. Not long afterward, finding faithfulness to the church, Overseer Allen was installed as the new Pastor of Rehoboth Church, and has provided and instructed many to the revelatory Word of God working fluently in the five-fold ministry.
Bishop Allen traveled extensively for the organization around the country and the Caribbean Islands, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and baptizing in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. On the home front, Rehoboth continues to be blessed of God, for the Bishop and his wife were able to restart the daycare, extensively expanding it to teach and care for infants and up through the age of 4. They also founded Vision Christian Academy for 13 years, a college-preparatory school for grades kindergarten up through the eighth.
God greatly continued to grant favor unto Bishop Allen and Rehoboth Church of God. Bishop Allen and Mother Gloria Allen were able to start a vast renovation project of the Rehoboth Church building which was, at the time, a 100-year-old church building with a few saints. Although Mother Allen was not able to see with her natural eyes the completion of the new sanctuary and the men’s, women’s, and pastors’ bathrooms as it stands, today she is resting to see that glorious city of God. Moreover, Bishop Allen continues to carry on the work of the Lord at Rehoboth, with which many new members have been added to the church.
The Lord continued to favor Bishop Allen, and he married the lovely elect lady Evangelist Paulette Dalling, and they continue to carry forth in the name of the Lord. More recently, the unwavering efforts of Bishop Keith G. Allen with the Mayor, City of Council of Baltimore, and the Historical Society of Baltimore has given the church a historic desgination. We are now called: HISTORIC REHOBOTH! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!
